Restorative Contact was partly inspired by a specific performance that I created called SEX TAPE. I had the realization that I was searching for care, in the form of physical contact from the people I was dating. Not at all uncommon, but it got me thinking about who were the people in my life who gave me the most care-- and that was my family and some close female friends. So with this realization, the question I proposed to myself was, could I expand what friendship could look and feel like and thus reorient my search for care? In the wake of #metoo SEX TAPE physicalizes and brings into the public sphere an image of care and a positive representation of touch.
